Myrto Dramountani uses laser-cut patterns to create visual illusions and give spatial, sculpture-like properties to her designs. Both a Fashion Designer and an Architect, the garments she creates are stylish, quirky and avant-garde, full of shapes and patterns. For Myrto Dramountani, the process by which a dress is made can be defined using metaphors of architectural construction. Fashion design and architecture share many similar techniques and even vocabulary: pinning, darting, folding, wrapping, draping, and cutting. Therefore, her designs are always influenced from architecture – she might even use architectural design software in order to create them.
