LASPI seaside getaway near Epidaurus, Greece

LASPI, coming from the Greek word for mud, is a boutique getaway near Athens. Located in the unspoiled, quiet area of Amoni, on the road to Ancient Epidaurus, the complex consists of a pair of houses, named “Petres” and “Skoni”. Spread over a total area of 300 sq.m., well integrated into the natural landscape, the complex enjoys magnificent views of the sea, dressed in concrete, wood, and terracotta that dominate its design identity. Designed by a fresh architecture studio called “Askiseis Edafous”, in collaboration with artist Alexandros Douras, each house accommodates up to 6 guests, with a living room, and a private swimming pool on the first floor, and three en-suite bedrooms on the second. Large windows offer panoramic views of the Saronic golf.

The front of the building consists of a sunbathing area and a private pool with an infinite sea view. The backyard is a quiet and shady area that works as an extension of the house. Most of the furniture is specially designed by the artist, while the houses feature new art pieces every year, with three artists (Evgenia Ioannidou, Orestis Lazouras, and Mirto Tzima) exhibiting at the moment. Ceramic plates, glasses, and utensils are custom-made by Korkodilos ceramic studio in Athens, while LASPI’s visual identity is designed by Athens-based studio OGUST and is based on a custom font inspired by the building’s architecture.
